What is Mailchimp?

MailChimp is the market leader in email marketing software. With MailChimp, you can send newsletters to your customers and keep them informed about the latest news or ongoing promotions. Customers you create through our software will be automatically added to your MailChimp mailing list by setting up the connection with MailChimp.


Opening a new account with MailChimp is free for up to 2,000 recipients.


Setting up a connection is only possible with a Professional package or higher.


Connecting

To set up the connection with MailChimp, you need a MailChimp account. Create a free MailChimp account if you don’t have one yet.


Once you have a MailChimp account, you can set up the connection by going to Connections > MailChimp > “Set Up Connection.” You only need to perform this action once.


To establish a connection with MailChimp, you will need the API key and List ID from your MailChimp account. After logging into your MailChimp account, click on your name in the top right corner and go to the ‘Account’ section. Then click on Extras > API keys and click on ‘Create A Key.’ Copy the newly created API key and add it in the wizard.


To find the List ID, go to the ‘Lists’ section and either create a new list or open an existing one. Then click on Settings > ‘List name and defaults.’ The List ID can be found under ‘List ID.’ Copy this and add it in the wizard.


After entering the required information, click “Connect” to confirm the connection. A check will be performed to verify the accuracy of the entered data. If everything is correct, the connection will be established.

Synchronisation

Once the connection is established, new email addresses from your customers will be automatically added to the list in your MailChimp account. If an email address already exists in the list, it will not be added again.


Email addresses of existing customers are not sent to MailChimp unless you update the customer information. To add existing email addresses to your MailChimp account, you can export your customers to Excel and import this file into MailChimp.


There may be a delay of up to 1 hour before new email addresses are automatically added to MailChimp.
